Thailand: Hand Sanitizer Of Alcoholic Concentration ≥70% Is Cosmetic

- Mar 19, 2020-

Due to the spread of the new crown epidemic and public concerns that hand sanitizers may be in short supply, the FDA Thailand has recently announced the abolition of the "September Notification" and renewed hand sanitizers containing 70% or more alcohol. Classified in the cosmetics category. The new notice came into effect on March 11, 2020.

The new adjustment will speed up the market circulation of alcohol disinfectant on the hand and simplify the import process, thereby increasing the local supply of disinfectant. In addition, in order to ensure that only high-standard and high-quality products can be marketed, Thailand has banned the production and import of hand alcohol disinfectants with an alcohol concentration of less than 70%.
