Myristic acid, also known as tetradecanoic acid, is a saturated fatty acid. The scientific name is tetradecanoic acid,which is white to yellowish white hard solid, occasionally shiny crystalline solid, or white to yellowish white powder, odorless.
Mainly used as a raw material for the production of surfactant, used for the production of sorbitan fatty acid ester, glycerol fatty acid ester, ethylene glycol or propylene glycol fatty acid ester, etc. It can also be used to produce isopropyl myristic acid and so on. Also used in defoaming agent, flavor enhancer. According to our country GB2760-89 regulation can be used to prepare a variety of edible spices.
